A Colorful STAMPAVIE Challenge…

Hey again! {{{PLEASE BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN FOR A LITTLE PAPER SHOP POST TODAY}}}

ETA: If you are viewing this in reader, I forgot to upload my card the first time, LOL! So, you’ll have to click on the actual post :) Heh heh…

I’m back with another post to tell you about the fun new challenges that are taking place over on the Stampavie DT blog! We are now on our fourth challenge and they just keep getting more and more fun!

This week’s challenge is a color combo! Love those! We’d like to challenge you to use BROWN and TURQUOISE (or similar shade) on your card or project. You have TWO whole weeks to play and the prizes are fabulous! One random winner will be chosen for each challenge to win!

I used one of the new stamps from the Rachelle Anne Miller Spring line, “Going Fishing”. Isn’t this elephant just the sweetest? I love all the new RAM images…as with all our Stampavie stamps, they are just so much fun to color!
Check out what the rest of the Stampavie DT came up with for some awesome inspiration and we hope you can play along with us this time!

In a Mother’s Eyes…

Hi all,

I apologize in advance for the lengthy post, but I have something to share with you today.

I had QUITE the amusing experience today that I thought I’d share with you. This amusement, you must understand, came after a large bout of frustration in creating this card. You’ll see why in a second…or maybe you already do! LOL!

I have been itching and itching to ink up the “Newly Hatched” stamp by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie. I absolutely adore this image and although you might think of Easter at first glance, it’s the PERFECT Spring image for MOTHER’S DAY, and can even be used for new baby cards, etc.

Anyway, a sketch challenge over on SCS caught my eye yesterday (SC226) and I decided I would finally break out this cutie pie and have some fun. Now, you all know, coloring images does take a while when you want to do it right. Im going to venture to say that with all the shading, etc. this only took me about 20 minutes, but still…

Where am I going with all of this, you ask? Well, it wasn’t until AFTER I uploaded my photo and began to edit that I realized the MASSIVE SMUDGE I left from still-wet Stickles on this card. I was fuming, LOL. I quick tried to rescue this card by trying to pull off the larger circle, and succeeded. However, it wasn’t until I tried pulling off the actual image that I realized, you know, the glue I use is super strong. It was either re-do this whole card, including the coloring, or trash it.

Something told me to think better of it, though. It made me think of my Mom, and one of the true meanings of Mother’s Day. Now, of course, I had to think long and hard about whether or not I’d show this card because I definitely dont’ want anyone to think I’m slipping LOL! However, you guys know me well enough to know that this type of thing normally (thank heavens!) doesn’t happen.

My parents just moved to Nashville, about 8 hours away from me, from my childhood home that is 15 minutes from me. It’s been a very emotional few weeks. I have seriously bought EVERY single Mother’s Day stamp, sentiment, etc. that I’ve seen the last few weeks because I’m already stock-piling them to create a ton of cards to send to my Mom. This is one of the Mother’s Day cards I had planned on giving her, but after the “incident”, I decided to send it sooner.

You see, this is a perfect example of a Mother’s love. No matter HOW much we think we screwed up, or did an imperfect job, I know my Mom will be BEAMING with pride when she receives this. She will set it on her dresser, mantle, or counter and tell everyone who walks past it “My daughter made this for me”.

It was then that I looked at my fridge and shrugged off my perfectionistic quirks and realized what life would possibly be like without all the scribbles, doodles, and smudges that I, too, am just BURSTING with pride in my children every time I look at them. I don’t even know what that world is nor do I want to. So long story longer, ha ha…the decision was clear. I HAD to post this card simply because of all the above feelings it evoked in me and how proud am I of my children, and also how grateful I am that my Mom is always so proud of me.

Isn’t THIS what stamping is all about??? :) Enjoy my smudge. It’s a little less irritating now every time I look at it..

~Jessica :)

Don’t forget, you have ONE more day to sign up for our Newsletter to be entered to win the Leere Aldrich stamps! Good luck to all! The winner will be announced in our VERY First issue of Stampavie Creations…I can’t wait!

Some Twinkling Tuesday excitement!

Hello!

I’m so glad to be back doing my DD’s Twinkling Tuesdays Challenge! After two weeks off I was ready to go again with a fun challenge that also helped to get me motivated again!

First, though, I want to tell you some SUPER fun news from Stampavie! We are now doing bi-weekly challenges for AWESOME PRIZES on the Stampavie blog! Every two weeks, the DT will be issuing a challenge that will be posted on the Stampavie Design Team blog.

Each winner will receive designated prizes from Heidi and Stuart, the gracious (and awesome!) owners of Stampavie and you will have a chance to win some AWESOME things!

This week’s Twinkling Tuesday card is also my challenge card from Stampavie (and no, Bonnie I won’t be guilty about my multi-tasking LOL!!!). I used this week’s sketch that Diane was gracious enough to provide us, plus this ADORABLE BRAND NEW Rachelle Anne Miller stamp, “Hoppy Spring“. The new Rachelle Anne Miller line of stamps is out and boy has she outdone herself! Check them all out…you’ll be amazed at how adorable they are!

Want to play along? YEAH YA DO! All you have to do is use a Stampavie image, along with this sketch, and upload to THIS post using Mr. Linky. Fun stuff! Can’t wait to see what you make!

As for Twinkling Tuesday, Madelynn and I both kind of came up with this week’s challenge. So, HOW many of you have stamps that you buy that just sit and sit for a while? Yeah, I know. ME TOO! Now, this was especially hard for me to choose because after being gone for two weeks, I even had stuff in boxes waiting for me! So I grabbed my new Stampavie stamps in their box, closed my eyes, and literally that is how I chose this week’s stamp to use LOL! That means I have TOO many stamps and not enough time!! Isn’t that the story for ALL of us?

Also overdue is a proper welcome for my friend, Heather Lee-Reppen! I didnt’ really get a chance to properly welcome her to our Twinkling little family since I was outta here as soon as she agreed to be a part of the team! yay! Heather is a friend who I have really enjoyed getting to know. She is super talented and I hope you’ll all check out her blog! WELCOME HEATHER!!!

I hope you guys get to play along this week. If you do, you can leave a comment on the TT blog or upload to SCS using keyword MTTSC17. And don’t forget about the SAV Challenge #1 on the Stampavie DT blog, too! How many challenges will YOU do this week? Stay tuned for a Prettie sketchy Wednesday and I’m so glad to be back! Lots of fun stuff to share, see, and do!

Hugs,
Jess :)

Lots going on today, for sure! Today is also Twinkling Tuesday and we have a very special “Temporary Twinkie” Guest Challenger with us today, Ava Grace. Ava is Taylor’s DD and she challenged us to QUITE the color combo:

WOWZA! I wasn’t sure WHAT I was going to do w/ this one, as I’m not very partial to green. Well, ok, not THIS shade of green, LOL! I didn’t even have it to be quite honest, so my good friend (and SU extraordinaire) Darla helped me out with that one! I mean, I had to deliver, as a VERY cute three year old is relying on me :) This was great, Ava Grace! I think we all can use a little forcing to “think out of the box” every now and again, right? Speaking of boxes, check out this cute little graphic that Jen drew…and in the spirit of St. Patty’s Day! Cute!

My son couldn’t have been happier when I pulled out my Rachelle Anne Miller Frog stamp from Stampavie! Aren’t these little guys INSANELY cute?! I LOVE them! I have been waiting and wanting to use this stamp for SOME time and so it definitely paid off, as today was the day!

After coloring them in with my Copics, I added just a bit of sparkle to the flowers and heart and then put this card together using the Roses on Paper sketch from last week. Unfortunately, I was a BIT too late to enter, but my sweet bloggin’ friend Rosette drew this sketch and I LOVE it! I will definitely be using it again!
Well, enjoy your Tuesday and be sure to take time to visit the TT blog as Kimmie is our featured stamper this week! You can also check out the rest of the wonderful “Twinklette’s” blogs today too…they are:

Nothing says I LOVE YOU like…My UN-Valentine…

Hey everyone,

Well, as you may remember, I might have mentioned in the last few weeks that I’m really not into Valentine’s Day.
I know, that sounds so utterly UN-romantic, but get to know me for about ten seconds and you’ll find that I’m actually quite the opposite! I LOVE little gestures, little moments to treasure here and there…I just don’t like it when Hallmark tells me I need to..hee hee.
To me, nothing says I love you like when DH does something for me for no reason…whether it’s brushing the snow off my car before he leaves for work or bringing home a box of Copics just because he heard me talking about it to a friend on the phone…more recently, my Big Shot diecutting machine…I have to admit, he sometimes even brings home a tape runner refill just because he knows I’m going to forget to buy one…
Or when my kids come up to me, completely unprompted and say “you’re my best fwend, Mommy”, or come up to me for a quick but sweet hug, and oh, how I love when they fall asleep on me while watching a movie…THAT to me is something that no holiday, no card even, can capture.

Anyway, this was the last of my UN-valentine’s cards this year, and I realized I hadnt’ yet shown it to you guys! I just ADORE this little Lily and Milo image by Rachelle Anne Miller, don’t you? I mean, could these blushing cutie pies BE any cuter? Don’t think so, right?

If you haven’t checked out the entirely AMAZING line of stamps designed by Rachelle Anne Miller, check out the Stampavie site and feast your eyes! There are so many adorable images…now if only the stamping fairy would come here and wave her magic wand and give me more time to stamp! Oh, and just WAIT…rumor has it there is a RIDICULOUSLY cute Spring Line coming very, very soon!

Alright, well, thanks for coming by today and now it’s time for a little game of “Finish the Sentence”. I want to know what YOU guys find most romantic in your own lives.

“NOTHING SAYS I LOVE YOU LIKE….” Well, what are you waiting for? Finish this sentence! I can’t wait to see what you say!

Hugs!
Jessica :)
